I had originally planned to buy a K70 low profile keyboard, but due to unavailability, I considered buying the K95 RGB PLATINUM. The keyboard is built really solid, very sturdy plastic and anodized aircraft-grade aluminium body. The keys use Cherry MX Speed switches, which require 45g of force to actuate. The good thing about cherry MX speed is their actuation distance is only 1.2mm. In other words, it’s too short which is a good thing as you do not need to bottom out the key fully to actuate it, a slight press does it. This feature is absolutely crazy good for competitive gaming, but quite a hassle and nuance for typing purposes, not a deal-breaker, it just requires some time to get accustomed to. There are macro keys, 6 of them, which are good for creating single button shortcuts or assigning certain apps to them through the iCue software. They’re useful, kind of.
The RGB on this keyboard is good too, one extra bling to it is that light edge around the top of the keyboard, but I find it totally stupid and blingy for my taste, but someone who prefers such extra flares to their setups would appreciate it without a doubt.
The cons of this keyboard area, first it’s not for typing, the lighting on that light edge thing is very inconsistent, the white RGB is inconsistent. and I do not see the worth for the price here for most of the people, excluding me, its good for me. I think K70 LOW Profile offers a lot more value as it truly offers the potential of cherry mx speeds. 4/5
